Pope Francis conferred Dr. Robin L. Smith Dame Commander with Star of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Sylvester Pope and Martyr. The recognition is intended to honor Dr. Smith for her active involvement as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Vatican’s Science and Faith Foundation, and for her contribution to building bridges and fostering a dialogue between science, faith, and culture. The award was presented to Dr. Smith by His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State on April 29th, 2016.
